Fresno Bridge project
Fresno Bridge
Elk Grove, Ca
Stronghold replaced a bridge that supports the tracks over Laguna Creek in Elk Grove, California, 15 minutes south of the State Capital.
The team built a trestle in order to maneuver a crawler crane fitted with a diesel pile hammer. Due to the project’s close proximity to residential areas, the Stronghold team had to soundproof the diesel hammer. They took acoustic minimization measures to ensure that the local community wasn’t disturbed.
Using the crawler crane, they drove approximately 33 hollow section, 24″ steel tube piles into the ground. While the current bridge is in operation, until the change out and replacement of the bridge deck, there are 30 piles on the contract bridge and 48 piles in the trestle.
