Huntington Library TESLA Battery ENERGY Storage SYSTEM

Huntington Library TESLA Battery Energy Storage System

Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens
San Marino, California

The proposed scope for 880KW/3520kWh TESLA Battery Energy Storage System was a fast-paced project that consisted of installing multiple TESLA battery storage systems within the Huntington Library Botanical Gardens, located in San Marino, CADue to the project’s fast-tracked schedule, we began design in April of 2019, started construction in November and was completed with project close-out in December of that same year, completing the construction in just 2 short months.

Much of the Botanical Gardens are covered with lavish greens, large trees and exotic plants and flowers. Because of the nature of the gardens, the battery system needed to be placed on skids in order to maintain the integrity of the root system of the large oak trees that the battery system was being installed nearby. Stronghold worked alongside the Gardens staff and after surveying the grounds, we able to establish a root map of the Oak Tree. Through the surveying efforts by our staff, we were able to determine that the use of a concrete pad would prove to be more beneficial than the skids that were previously scoped for the project. Through this important change, it saved the client a considerable amount of cost savings as well as installation and start-up time.
