Stronghold completed the design build renovation at Building 26 at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. Building 26 is a 1963 building that required the complete interior demolition and office renovation. This building had a complete interior renovation of over 196,729 square feet, which included twenty six different user groups including various administrative, office and storage spaces. The work was done over three basement floors within an existing operational nine-story multi-functional medical office, office, recreationally and housing services building. The design was done to change the buildings function and space/service requirements.
Stronghold partnered with the Navy to update the buildings mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life/safety systems and to abate existing hazardous materials as well as obtain LEED Certification. The project was completed with over hours 99,000 hours, of which 44,000 were self-performed, completed on-time, within budget and with zero (0) lost time incidents.
